WHEN IS THE AHRC FOUNDATION WALK?
The 2022 AHRC Foundation Walk is taking place on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
ARE THERE FUNDRAISING MINIMUMS?
No! To ensure as many people get a chance to participate this fall, there are no fundraising minimums. We do encourage all walkers who can fundraise to ask friends and family for donations to support our mission to create a better future for people with developmental disabilties.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE AHRC FOUNDATION WALK?
Click the "Register" button above. You will fill out a short registration form and receive a confirmation email upon completion.
DO I HAVE TO REGISTER MY CHILDREN?
Children under 18 who wish to fundraise should register online. Children under 18 who will just be participating on walk day do not need to register online, but we will need their parent or guardian to fill out a waiver form at the registration tent on walk day.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WALK?
WHAT IS THE FASTEST, MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO DONATE?
Making a donation online by credit card will immediately post on the walker's fundraising page. The donor will receive a receipt within their confirmation email and the walker will receive a donation notification. Donations are also accepted in the form of cash or by check.
HOW CAN I DELIVER CASH OR CHECKS?
Check donations may be mailed to the address below. Please do not mail cash.

Please include this form with your check and make sure the check is made out to "AHRC Foundation Walk" and the walker's name is listed in the memo field.
HOW DO I SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER?
Click here to sign up as a volunteer! Recruit family, friends and colleagues to volunteer at the Walk with you.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR CASH, CHECKS OR MATCHING GIFTS TO POST TO MY FUNDRAISING PAGE?
Please allow 10 business days after receipt for mailed donations to be processed and posted to your fundraising page. Donations made online will be processed and posted immediately.
HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF MY COMPANY WILL MATCH GIFTS FOR THE AHRC FOUNDATION?
Whether you work for a company that matches the money you raise, or if one of your donors works for a company that does, you can double your donations by viewing our Matching Gifts page and doing the following:
- Pick up a Matching Gift form from your Human Resources Department
- Fill out the form completely
- Send it to the following address:
If after contacting your Human resources Department you still have a Matching Gift question, simply contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

ARE STROLLERS AND WHEELCHAIRS ALLOWED AT THE WALK?
Sure! All walk routes are accessible.
HOW LONG IS THE WALK?
The AHRC Foundation Walk is about 3 miles long. Shorter routes may be available for those who are not able to complete a longer route.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Unfortunately, the park does not allow pets in the area where our Walk takes place.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF THE WALK?
The AHRC Foundation Walk is a "RAIN OR SHINE" event. Please check the AHRC websites in the case of severe weather.
