Marcus Avenue Student Makes Great Progress with Dance/Movement Therapist |

| You can’t help but smile when you see Skyler, a Marcus Avenue Preschool student whose joy and friendliness light up her classroom. Once a shy student, Skyler came out of her shell with the support of Dance/Movement Therapist Danielle Wood and has made many new friends at school. |

Building Lifelong Skills in the Brookville Center Model Apartment |

In a model apartment at the Children’s Education Center, Transition students work on skills that will serve them throughout their lives, from cooking in the full-size kitchen to cleaning a model bedroom. The students also practice shopping and fulfilling orders in the small market. These skills of independence will aid them in their self-care and future endeavors, such as employment. |

Barbara C. Wilson Preschool Parent Association Touch-a-Truck Event Was a Success! |
|

|
The Barbara C. Wilson Preschool Parent Association worked together in September to create an adventure for the students right in the school parking lot. First responders stationed police vehicles, fire trucks, and a boat in front of the preschool for students to explore. Police K9 dogs also stopped by to meet and greet the students. |

Reach for the Stars Raises $80,000 for Enriching Experiences, PAES Lab |
|

|
| Two hundred guests, including family members, staff, and supporters, gathered on May 15 at The Crescent Beach Club for an evening of fundraising and comradery, all for the benefit of students. Together, we raised $80,000.
It was a great evening for the community to reunite and catch up and take a chance to win a raffle prize. |

Guests listened to heartfelt speeches from BCCS Board President Al Capra, Director of the Children’s Education Center Denise Gaughan, and sibling speaker Megan Mancuso who told guests about the Children’s Residential Program’s positive impact on her brother.
The money raised will directly fund on-campus, field trip experiences for all the schools and The Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES) Lab for the Children’s Education Center. The PAES Lab is a simulated work environment that provides practical job training. Transition students will benefit as they prepare for life beyond BCCS.

BCCS students across our schools and Children’s Residential Program joined in on the eclipse frenzy on Monday, April 8. Students prepared for the solar eclipse through fun and educational activities like worksheets, arts & crafts, and live viewings.

Post Avenue Preschool Receives $4,937 |
|

| This past spring, Post Avenue Preschool was awarded a $4,937 grant to help develop a sensory room.
The grant is from The Hambrick Foundation, which helps fund programs and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). |

The sensory room will be a place where students can explore, safely engage, grow, learn, and thrive with innovative tools like a bubble tube, UV fiber optic sensory lighting, and marble panel.
