Good afternoon,

I am happy to share that COVID infection rates have declined significantly in our area, and infection rates for people receiving services continue to decline throughout the OPWDD system.  At present there are no active COVID infections in any of our residential programs.  This is terrific news and I would like to thank all of the staff in each of our organizations who each played a part to ensure positive outcomes for the people we support.

This afternoon we learned that OPWDD is rescinding its COVID-19 Interim Visitation Guidance for Certified Residential Facilities that was issued on January 4, 2022 in recognition of the falling infection rates.  This is wonderful news for our families and their loved ones who again can enjoy unrestricted visitation in their homes.  I would like to point out that COVID is still a risk.  Even with low infection rates we need to remain vigilant as it is not eradicated and occasional new cases can continue to occur.  Should an individual living in a home test positive, visitation will again need to be restricted for the appropriate quarantine period.  In addition, we are continue to follow the guidance regarding appropriate face coverings as this guidance has not changed.  All staff, volunteers, contractors, vendors, visitors and individuals receiving services need to wear appropriate face coverings in program settings.

We thank you for your continued patience and partnership throughout this pandemic and will continue to keep you updated.

Best
