Dear Brookville Center Staff Members,

I hope you are all safe and healthy. I must commend you all for the amazing job you are doing supporting our students, families and each other during these difficult and uncertain times. The creativity, hard work and teamwork that I have seen and has been reported to me is exemplary.

As the coronavirus crisis continues, the New York State Department of Education, in accordance with the governor’s executive order, issued guidelines that school districts throughout New York State cancel spring breaks scheduled to take place in the beginning of April. Further, the Department of Education’s guidelines state that all schools must continue to provide remote learning/instruction even if a spring recess was planned.

In light of this order and the Department of Education’s guidelines, we must continue to do what we are currently doing in terms of our remote education during the dates of our scheduled spring break. It is essential you keep documentation of all the hard work you are doing reaching out to students and families to ensure they receive appropriate education.

I know this news may be upsetting as everyone is working so hard and your work and dedication does not go unnoticed. These are unique times but together we will get through them.

I appreciate you all.

Stay well,
